waterjet composites

plastic & rubber

Waterjet cutting is suitable for many foam, rubber, plastic, insulation, and woven materials. Typically these materials are cut using a steel rule die, which must be designed and constructed for each cutting job. A waterjet replaces the need for the die, which can cost thousands of dollars. Another advantage is the cold nature of the waterjet stream eliminates the possibility of material releasing noxious fumes. Rubber can be cut with a water-only nozzle for faster and cleaner cutting. Water-only cutting wastes little material and the cutting process is extremely rapid, allowing production times to be greatly reduced.
